Yul Edochie was born in the early 1980s in Anambra State, located in the southeastern part of Nigeria, to the family of legendary actor Pete Edochie and his wife Josephine Edochie, a broadcaster.

He was born on January 7th, 1982, and named after Hollywood star Yul Brynner.

Yul began his early education at Lilian’s Day Nursery School and Robinson Street Primary School in Enugu.

He then went on to attend Marist Brothers’ Juniorate, Uturu for his secondary education. Yul started his nursery, elementary, and secondary education in 1984, 1986, and 1992, respectively.

After completing his secondary education and obtaining his West African Senior Certificate.

Yul gained admission to the University of Port Harcourt, a prestigious institution where he studied and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts.

Career

Yul Edochie began his career in the Nigerian entertainment industry in 2005 when he made his acting debut in the movie “The Exquires.”

Since then, he has featured in over 200 Nollywood movies, including “Royal Challenge,” “Wind of Glory,” and “Two Hearts as One.”

Yul has won several awards for his outstanding performances in movies, including the City People Entertainment Awards for Best Actor in 2013 and 2014.

In addition to his acting career, Yul Edochie is also a successful movie producer and director.

He has produced and directed several movies, including “The Crippled,” “The Painful Soul,” and “The Father and The Son.” Yul is known for promoting the Igbo language and culture through his movies.

Yul Edochie is married to his second wife, Judy Austin Muoghalu, a Nigerian actress, producer, social media influencer, and the founder of the JudyAustin boutique in Anambra state.

They got married on April 27, 2022, and have a child together named Star Dike Munachimso, who was born on November 21, 2021.

Yul comes from a large family and has several siblings, including Linc Edochie, a Nollywood actor, and Yvonne Edochie, a photographer.
